proven himself to be an adept passer and is capable of creating a lot of offense for Dwight Howard. His shooting is poor, 37 percent from the field last year, but it was an aberration, as in 07-08 in Chicago he shot 43 percent from the field.Despite the poor overall field goal percentage, Duhon is a decent three point shooter, which is a requirement for the Magic's inside-out offense.The best thing about Duhon, however, is his pass-first mentality, which will be a welcome change from starter Jameer Nelson, who is basically the definition of a shoot-first point guard.When Duhon enters the game, the ball movement will increase as Duhon only attempted 6.7 field goals per game in almost 31 minutes a night. Compare that to Nelson, who averaged more than 10 attempts in three minutes fewer per game.Another bonus to signing Duhon is that if Nelson goes down, Duhon could adequately step in and start for a long stretch of games. Duhon, the Magic will be able to shield the blow if Nelson should prove to be an injury liability again next season.All in all, Duhon is not the kind of signing that will bring a lot of "oohs" and "ahhs," but he is a solid and proven point guard. And spending $15 million over four seasons isn't a bad price to pay for someone like that.
